Editorial policy
Two sources, on-chain evidence where it exists, zero sponsors.
Editorial standards for Cryptostrapon: dual-source verification, on-chain evidence, victim anonymity, no sponsors, and clear labels on every illustrative example.
Who the desk is
Cryptostrapon Desk is the author of record for everything published here: a small independent team documenting crypto fraud as a free public-interest education service.
Detective S, Gloss and Bit are not people — they are desk names. S covers field work and the detector, Gloss covers vocabulary, Bit covers the archive and the quizzes. Anything signed with those names is reviewed by the same team before it ships.
We don't publish real names. The reason is blunt: we document crews who steal money and who react badly to being named. Editorial accountability sits with the desk, and the direct contact channel below reaches a real person, not an auto-responder.
How we verify
Two independent sources or it doesn't run
Every incident needs at least two sources that don't depend on each other. A viral thread is not a source.
On-chain evidence when it exists
A transaction, contract or address anyone can open in a public explorer. When we use reconstructions, fictional addresses or composite cases, we clearly label them as illustrative.
Verified losses, never estimates
Published figures are confirmed victim losses. Unconfirmed numbers are labelled unverified or left out entirely.
Anonymised by default
Victim names and addresses are masked (0x1234…abcd). We expose methods, not people.
Corrections and updates
- When a fact changes we edit the piece and record the date and the reason — we don't quietly delete mistakes.
- Internal incident records keep a revision history (loss revised, status changed) with the reason for each change.
- Spotted an error? Send the link and the evidence. We fix fast and without drama.
Independence and money
- No sponsored content, no paid listings, no reviews for money.
- We don't take payment to remove a story or to mention a project.
- We don't offer fund recovery, custody, or handle anyone's money. Anyone promising that in our name is scamming you.
Use of AI
We use AI tools for drafting, translation and pattern-spotting. Nothing publishes without human review by the desk, and fact-checking is always human. The scam detector is a guidance tool, not a legal verdict.
What this is not
This is not financial or legal advice. It is educational documentation of fraud patterns, written to make you harder to fool.
